East of Maui offers professional watersports lessons, including surfing, kiteboarding, windsurfing, wing foiling, and e-foiling. Whether you're a beginner or looking to advance your skills, our experienced instructors provide personalized coaching with top-quality gear. Lessons are tailored to wind, weather, and wave conditions to ensure the best experience on the water.
Surf Lesson
East of Maui’s surf lessons provide a fun and safe way to learn the fundamentals of surfing, whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your skills. Lessons take place at a prime surf location and cover everything from water safety to popping up on the board.
Lesson Details
- Location: North Side of the Indian River Inlet Bridge, Delaware Seashore State Park.

- Private Lesson: $120 for 75 minutes; add a friend for $100.
- Small Group (1-6 people): $100 per person for 75 minutes.
- Large Group (7-10 people): $80 per person for 75 minutes.
- What's Provided: All surfboards included; wetsuits may be needed in spring, early summer, and fall.
- Timing: Scheduled at low, incoming tide; times vary daily.

Electric Foil (E-Foil) Lesson
East of Maui’s E-Foil lessons offer an exhilarating way to experience the thrill of flying over water. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills, this lesson provides expert instruction to help you master the fundamentals of electric foiling.
Lesson Details
- Location: New Road, Delaware Seashore State Park (Rehoboth Bay or Delaware Bay, depending on conditions).
- Pricing: $400 for a 1.5-hour session (30 minutes on land, 60 minutes on water).
- Participants: Maximum of 2 students (one E-Foil, one instructor).
- What's Provided: E-Foil and all necessary equipment.

Cancellation Policy:

- Cancellations within 48 hours receive a 50% refund.
- No refunds for no-shows.
- Full refunds for cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance or due to low wind.
No Wind Policy:

- If there is no wind on the day of your lesson, you can reschedule or receive a full refund.
- East of Maui has been teaching Windsurfing since 1979, Kiteboarding since 2000, and Wing Foiling since 2020.
Gear & Attire:

- Boards and necessary gear are provided by East of Maui.
- Wetsuits and water shoes may be needed in spring, early summer, and fall.
- Wetsuits and water shoes are not provided, but available for purchase in-store.
- Wetsuits are recommended from September through May.
Lesson Scheduling:

- Lessons are wind, wave, and weather dependent—call the shop to schedule a few days in advance.
- Bookings must be made at least 48 hours in advance and confirmed by an instructor.
Parking Fees:

- $5 for in-state visitors, $10 for out-of-state visitors.
- Credit cards accepted at all Delaware state parks (Indian River Inlet State Park, New Road, etc.).
Rentals with East of Maui
