The final race in France’s 2011 Naish SUP Tour wraps up in beautiful Bordeaux with a 15 km river race and a downtown slalom course past elegant homes and boats. (in French)

Kai SUPing Tahiti (3:32)

World Champ Kai Lenny was in Tahiti for the Sapinus Pro (No. 3 stop on the Stand Up World Tour…in which he came 3rd, while scoring some epic rides and securing his continuing first place ranking over all! But, we digress…) He shot, starred, and edited this video all himself with the help of his Contour camera. Check out his unique perspective!

Rajada SUP Race (3:13)

Naish sponsored the first event of the Brazillian SUP Circuit with the Rajada SUP Race. Watch the fifty competitors on beautiful Lagoa dos Barros in Osório – RS.

Good Morning Chile – a Stand Up Paddle Breakfast (3:34)

Naish Rider, Arnaud Frennet skips the eggs and bacon for a sweet morning session in Chile with his GoPro.

One World One Ocean (1:23)

World Class waterwoman, Jenny Kalmbach, spreads her message to paddlers in this short video. “A few months back while I was visiting Southern California I had the opportunity to meet up with Jeff Vasquez who is putting together a film on standup paddling. One of the topics we spoke about was my passion for raising awareness for the ocean and the impact of plastic contamination on our marine environment. The oceans give us life, but we’re not taking care of them. As a paddler, I spend the majority of my time near or on the water and I am shocked by the lack of caring fellow paddlers, surfers, fishermen etc have toward protecting the oceans. The world’s oceans are at a tipping point and if we don’t make some major changes soon, they will not recover. Recently, One World One Ocean was launched with the mission of changing the way we view the oceans in order to help protect and restore them. We have a duty to protect the oceans for all they have given us. It is never to late to make a difference. Check out oneworldoneocean.org for more information and help spread the word on this important movement.”

Eduardo Diaz SUP Siam Park (3:34)

Edu once again ripping on his Hokua at Siam Park in the Canary Islands. The stylized video is well produced by Second Reef and has some sweet shots.

Share the Stoke! (4:44)

Naish SUP Tour 2010: La Traversee de Paris (4:47)

In the heart of Paris, the second edition of the Naish SUP Tour was held to kick off the 50th anniversary of The Nautic, as well as the Paris Boat Show. Due to extremely cold temperatures, only 34 competitors were allowed to race the 10 km course across the Seine River, from east to west.
The especially cold December weather did not stop the competitors, even though ice was visible on the paddles and boards. They finished in perfect timing — just as the race was completed, the wind and snow showed up.

Channel Islands: The Crossing (Trailer) (1:01)

Last month, stand up paddler Karen Wrenn became the first person to paddle between all 8 of the Channel Islands, consecutively, off the coast of Southern California. Rough seas, inclement weather, long distances and sealife with mighty big teeth were some of the challenges she had to overcome to make the crossing.
"After he heard me talking about paddling the Channel Islands, my husband asked me if I was serious," Wrenn said. "My answer was simple, why wouldn't I?"

Guns Blazing (3:16)

Naish riders, Loch Eggers and Stephane Etienne put their Hokua 9’8″ Guns to the test in Fuerteventura.

The aim is to instill self-confidence and a love for the ocean in women of all skill levels by providing one-day downwind events, ocean sport holiday trips, and/or ocean sport clinic trips.

Volcano Day (2:50)

Naish International team SUPers, Nicole Boronat and Stephane Etienne celebrate Volcano Day in their own way…

Suzie Cooney in action (5:52)

Suzie Cooney, Naish team rider and lifestyle guru behind Suzie Trains Maui, shows us what she (and we!) can do on an SUP. Footage shot by Suzie with her GoPro camera attached to a Naish board. Awesome!

Kai Lenny wins the Stand-Up Paddling World Tour 2010 (4:37)

The Stand Up World Tour came to a dramatic close with the Hawaii Island Finals event, where 18-year-old phenom Kai Lenny won the event and the title of World Champion!

The Tour's final stop took place at Honoli'i on the Big Island, in two to three foot surf. Despite great performances from Antoine Delpero and Leco Salazar, as well as Kai's archrival of the year, Peyo Lizarazu, Kai kept his cool and went above and beyond – shredding in all four heats of the 40-man main event. Back in February, Kai had also pocketed the first stop in the tour, at Oahu's Sunset Beach. Kai took third in Anglet, France in the second stop. He had an off-day in Tahiti, but scored second in the tour's fourth stop in Brazil. This week, he brought it all home to a well-deserved victory. The goal of the Tour is the global pursuit of the world's best in stand-up paddle surfing. That person was crowned, in an emotional close to the 2010 Stand Up World Tour.

Congratulations, Kai Lenny!!!

When East Of Maui first opened its doors we specialized in windsurfing and surfing equipment. The sport of windsurfing was still in its early days and the real innovations were happening on Maui. In the 1980's Maui Hawaii was the center of the windsurfing world. This is where you went if windsurfing was your passion. After spending many months windsurfing on Maui we decided to bring the Maui experience home with us to Delaware. There were only a handful of shops specializing in windsurfing on the east coast. We did not feel that any of these were up to the standards of what we had experienced on Maui so we decided to start East Of Maui Surf Shop in Dewey Beach.

One of the key differences between East of Maui Surf Shop and most other "surf shops" is our diversification into a wide variety of water sports. Many of our customers have embraced the crossover sports like Kiteboarding and Standup paddle boarding. Too many times we find customers waiting day after day for waves in the summer months. Anyone who has spent time here in the summer knows how frustrating this can be. Fortunately the summer is some of the best time to learn to kite board, stand up paddle and windsurf. All three sports complement each other along with surfing. Stop into the Lewes or Dewey Beach shop and we can introduce you to something new this summer. These are sports that will be with you for a lifetime. Many of our customers are well into there 60's and they still rip! With no signs of slowing up.

East Of Maui employes a team of dedicated board riders . If we are not in the shop working we are usually on the water KITEBOARDING, SURFING, STAND UP PADDLE BOARDING, WINDSURFING, KAYAKING or SKIMBOARDING. We would love to get the chance to share our love of water, wind and waves with you.

Thanks for shopping with us:

When East of Maui first opened its doors it was Windsurfing that sparked the passion for water sports that has driven us for almost 30 years. In the many years since, many windsurfers have evolved into kiteboarder's, surfers, and stand up paddlers but that doesn't mean the sport isn't just as fun and exciting as it used to be. We offer beginner to intermediate windsurfing lessons for kids, teens, adults or even the whole family. If your interested in Kiteboarding, windsurfing can be a great introductory class to understanding wind and being comfortable on the water. Most people who know how to Windsurf can pick up kiteboarding or any other water sport much faster. We will also be offering FREE windsurfing clinics and demo's in addition to our Standup Paddleboard demo's at our new watersports center in Lewes, DE.

In recent years the Delaware Coast has become one of the most popular places in the world for the growing sport of Skimboarding. We have a huge team of Professional Skimmers that spend their entire summer here in Dewey Beach Skimboarding almost everyday. Just check out the beach around 5pm everyday and you'll dozens of kids tearing it up! We offer beginner to advanced lessons for kids of all ages as well as weekly clinics and local events.
